35th Annual NOEA Fishing Tornament - May 30 to May 31, 2013 - Sanddollar Marina, Grand Isle, LA

About the NOEA Fishing Tournament

Don Ranna and a group of members of the Electrical Association of New Orleans first started the New Orleans Electrical Association Fishing Tournament in 1978. The small group of members met at Battistella's Marina in Empire, LA. for a one day fishing trip. Today the NOEA Fishing Rodeo's headquarters is currently held in the Sanddollar Marina in Grand Isle, LA. Fishing is limited to rod and reel only anywhere in South Louisiana waters. Since 1978 the Tournament has grown into the most attended event of the Electrical Association of New Orleans catering to 250 - 300 attendees.

The Electrical Association of New Orleans consists of Electrical Distributors, Electrical Contractors, Manufacturers and Manufacturers Representatives, Electrical Engineers, Electrical Inspectors, Entergy Employees and Associate Members in the New Orleans metropolitan area. The objective of this event is to promote camaraderie and friendship between its members while having a good time participating in a popular Louisiana Sport. The event is not open to the general public, however knowing someone that is a member of the Electrical Association is all that is generally needed to participate.

The secret to the success of the two-day Fishing Tournament is due to the hard work of the Fishing Tournament Committee and the generosity of all the many companies that sponsor the event each year. Even though the registration fee for the participants is next to nothing, the Sponsors make it possible to afford all that is provided. Included in the small entrance fee is a free rodeo cap, all you can eat catfish fish fry including French fries and other condiments for 2 days. Unlimited beer and soft drinks, $ 1,200 in door prizes given away each day. Individualized award plaques are given to the fisherman with the largest fish that place 1st., 2nd. or 3rd. in the 24 fish categories. The award plaques are given at the Awards Banquet that is held at a restaurant a couple months after the Fishing Tournament. This event is available to all registered members and guests that participated that year.

The objective of this web site is to provide information to anyone concerning the Fishing Tournament and to provide recognition to the Sponsors and other companies that make the Fishing Tournament a huge success each year. Please take the time to check out our Sponsors and support them as they support us.
